Rated 5 out of 5 by Dani16587 from Perfect for cragging!I used this pack for a week in Indian Creek to carry 3 racks of cams, additional wide gear, lots of water and occasionally a rope. It was surprisingly comfortable and highly adjustable to get a perfect fit. I typically have trouble finding backpacks with a tall enough torso and small enough hip belt to fit properly and the S/M size worked great for me. The zipper opening around the main compartment made it super easy to retrieve gear that sunk to the bottom of the pack while my partners had to unpack their whole bags. Plus the side pocket being accessible from both inside and outside of the bag provided quick access for water bottles or guidebooks. Overall I love this pack and can't wait to take it climbing again!

After wearing out my ArcTeryx Miura pack some years ago, and because they discontinued it in it's best version, I have been on a crag pack search that has landed me with a few packs that are certainly duds. I won't waste any time mentioning those and simply say that the Tower is the first one I have used that has let me pleasantly surprised with thoughtful features, durable materials, and it comfortable to carry. I have recommended it to several friends and frequently get asked about it when other climbers see it at the crag. Nice work Mystery Ranch!

Rated 4 out of 5 by rdj3332 from Exactly what I neededThis pack is perfect for my everyday adventures overseas. I needed a cross between an assault pack and a hiking backpack. This pack fit the bill perfectly. I was using the MR 3 day assault pack but the frame sheet was not rigid enough for the heat nor the load I carry. The tower 47 with its stays and more rigid frame sheet fills this gap nicely. All the interior pockets allow me to organize and access my equipment quickly with extra room to spare. The compression straps, attachment loops, and drag handles make this heavy duty pack compact, clean, and easy to handle even with a heavier load. I would have given it 4 stars except, it does not have a dedicated opening for the hydration tube and the hooks on the compression straps are NOT BLACK as pictured. Mine came in silver. Overall, very minor complaints for such a perfect and versatile pack that easily transitions from the jungle, to the mountains, the ocean, and back to the city with comfort and style.

The shape, the features, etc. were all a bit foreign to me having used more traditional climbing packs. Having used it a few weeks now, it has really grown on me. The things I found odd are now beginning to make sense and are actually well thought out. I never thought I would use the multiple ways of accessing the inside, yet I do...on every outing. The fat, flat shape that I found a bit unappealing is perfect for keeping the bag upright, haul bag style. I might choose a different pack if I had a mult-hour approach, but for nearby cragging and ventures to the gym, I think it's perfect.

Instead I bought it because I had been looking for a 40-50 liter backpack for traveling to SE Asia that I could carry-on and had great organization. The T47 fit that bill and then some. The organization, comfort of the carry system and overall durability of the bag have far exceeded my expectations. I can fit three weeks worth of clothing and essentials for my trip and it's not overloaded, still compact and easy to carry for long walks through the airport and through the cities to my next destination. I would highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Spencer from Amazing Climbing Pack!A true backpack company now has a a climbing pack! I have had other climbing specific packs but they do not compare to this one. It is very comfortable on the shoulders, back and hips when it is loaded down (no poking of your gear in your back either). The fit and structure makes this great for long approaches too. As far as the organization, this pack brings it! Inside it has gear loops and several pockets for you to choose what works best for you in accessing your gear. When the pack opens up fully, there is structure to the sides, bottom and top so your gear doesn't just spill out. For the size, I can fit all my gear, layers, food/water, guidebook and other essentials in this bag without playing Tetris getting in and out of it. A rope does fit over the top and is very secure but hey, shouldn't your partner carry something?! There are several handles on the pack that seem to be in the right spots when moving the pack around at the crag.The material seems pretty bombproof to last a long time. My uncle swore by Dana Designs packs years back and now I see why in Mystery Ranch! (I am a climber and use my gear a lot!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dono from Bomber PerfectionBought this bag after seeing missing out on it at the AAC auction. I've been looking for the perfect climbing pack for years. Durable, efficient, and able to carry all your gear! I've already drug it through Sierra granite, ORG, and Red Rocks. There isn't another pack that can do it all. It's not designed as a mixed alpine or super lightweight climbing pack but hauling your rack to the crag.... bomber!
