65+ delicious salad recipes to make a perfect BBQ side (1)

Take your refreshing sides to new heights with our summer salads – we promise there is not a limp leaf in sight! No need for a pre-made supermarket salad, these will be far more tasty, and are easy to prepare too. Perfect on their own, served with a crusty white loaf as a light meal, or as a side to your BBQ feast.

Always make sure to buy vegetables and fruits when they are in season, as you'll be rewarded with more flavour. Look for verdant and blemish free salad leaves, as well as free-range meat if your salad requires it.

Also key to a good salad is a flavoursome dressing. A simple vinaigrette comprises of 1 part acid, 1 part flavouring and 3 parts oil. A particular favourite combination of ours is red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard and a good-quality olive oil (with plenty of seasoning). However, if you are after a fancier dressing, then we have got you covered. The salads below feature lots of alternative dressings, such as a yoghurt, tarragon and mustard dressing, a mango chutney and coriander dressing, a vegan green goddess dressing and many more!

From veggie friendly salads such as our celeriac, lentil and stilton salad, griddled nectarine and feta salad and grilled avocado, tomato and mozzarella salad, to salads suitable for meat and fish lovers like our chicken naan salad and mackerel, grapefruit and fennel salad; there's something for everyone. So make something new this Summer and enjoy an alfresco dining experience with an array of our colourful and flavoursome salad recipes.
